Louise Pang and Chris Fung moved to Vancouver from Hong Kong in 2020. After struggling to find local and sustainable Asian condiments, they decided to make their own. Inspired by Pang’s grandmother’s recipe, they found their hero ingredient: duck fat. Duck fat was an often neglected ingredient in Canada, but Fung and Pang saw the potential to transform it into something amazing. Together, they launched Holy Duck Chili Oil. The finely rendered duck fat combined with a harmonious mixture of East Asian spices creates deep umami flavour with subtle spice and crispy perfection.
