The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History celebrates Kwanzaa 2024 with a series of in-person and digital events from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1. Kwanzaa is rooted in African traditions and African American culture. The new "Healthy and Resilient Communities" program from Authority Health provides fresh, healthy food options in areas of Detroit where access to nutritious meals is limited. The program places coolers stocked with fresh food—such as wraps, salads, and fruits—in convenience stores, gas stations, and dollar stores in seven Detroit zip codes where the need is greatest. Papa Joe's Gourmet Market is providing fresh food for the project.
