Chinese firms are also rushing for lower EAC local assembly tariffs of up to 10% on imported components and manufacturing under bond, with a 10-year cooperation tax holiday. The introduction of Simi-mobile, U-home, Mi-One, and Infinix brings Asian smartphone assemblers who set up shop in Uganda to four. Some fish dealers are reporting a significant rebound in fish stocks of large fish species in Lake Victoria, which they attribute to fish protection initiatives and improving technologies. At the end of last year, the URA reported that the country is now earning over 9 billion shillings annually from fish exports. However, a report by regional partners in Tanzania's livestock development and fisheries shows stocks in the freshwater lakes shared by the three EAC states have declined to 35% due to habitat destruction and increasing human activities. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda

The defense trial of former LRA fighter Thomas Kwoyelo has continued today with the accused taking the stand, defending himself against 78 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the civilian population of northern Uganda. The trial is taking place before the International Crimes Division (ICD) of the High Court, Gulu High Court. Today, Kwoyelo broke down as he narrated how LRA leader Joseph Kony killed his Deputy Vincent Otti in 2008 for plotting to defect to the government side. Kwoyelo explains that while in the Garamba forest in Congo, Kony ordered the arrest of Otti and himself for being accomplices to a defection plot, even as the peace talks were ongoing. According to Kwoyelo, Kony told him that he had been alerted by his spirits that Otti was guilty of the allegations while he (Kwoyelo) was innocent. The trial continues tomorrow. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
