Work is continuing apace on the country’s newest reverse osmosis plant at Ffryes Beach, set for completion within weeks. The plant is being installed by Florida-based Seven Seas Water Group, on a 12-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) Agreement. This means the company will recoup its investment over 12 years, at which point the plant will become the property of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. Garfield Burford reports.

Two families have been left without a home for Christmas, as fire destroyed their dwellings in Hatton on Thursday. Terry Andrew reports.
The nation paid its final respects on Thursday to long-serving St Peter Member of Parliament, Hon. Asot Michael. MP Michael was laid to rest following an official funeral at the Holy Family Cathedral. He was murdered at his home on November 5, the first time in the country and the region's history that a lawmaker was meeting such an untimely demise. As is the norm for official funerals, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda coordinated the ceremony. Patrice Martin reports.

Government Senator Phillip Shoul has launched a blistering broadside against the former United Progressive Party administration for their handling of the economy between 2004 and 2014. He indicated in his contribution to the budget debate in the senate on Wednesday that the country has paid dearly for what he argues was wastage of resources.
