Lightning of St. Lucia flashed to glory in one of the biggest races in Legendary Drags here in Antigua. The Valvoline-sponsored 7th Edition of the showpiece attracted Drag Cars and Bikes from across the Caribbean and the United States. Sharife Sergeant was at the raceway.
The medical fraternity in this country and beyond is paying glowing tributes to medical director at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Dr Albert Duncan, who died on Tuesday. A far-reaching forensic ballistics training programme has been launched to boost Antigua and Barbuda's ability to tackle firearm-related crimes. This initiative comes at a critical time as law enforcers seek to counter the proliferation of illegal firearms and ammunition. Senator Michael Joseph was officially sworn in as the newest lawmaker in Parliament's Upper House. He had also been sworn in at Government House to pave the way for his appointment as Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment. He also took the oath in at the start of his maiden sitting in the Senate on Tuesday.
The Mill Academy is celebrating its first anniversary, with an official ceremony to mark the milestone on Monday. Kim Emmanuel Baird reports.
Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate, Shawn Nicholas is leaving Parliament's Upper House after 11 and a half years. The legislator made the shock announcement during Tuesday's sitting.
Senators have congratulated newly-minted Leader of Government Business in Parliament’s Upper House, Senator Shenella Govia. She assumed the role during Tuesday’s sitting. She was elevated to that role following the resignation of former majority leader Samantha Marshall. Senator Govia expressed gratitude to her predecessor.
Parliament’s Upper House has passed the Magistrate’s Code of Procedure (Amendment) no.2 Bill 2024 and the Companies (Amendment) no. 2 Bill 2024. The legislative amendments were approved without amendments. Shannakisha Francis reports.

The head of government earmarks January, 2025 as the potential date another tranche of payments.
