The Government has received close to XCD$7.5 million in dividend payments from its stake in West Indies Oil Company. In all, shareholders are receiving over $16.3 million in dividends at $2.76 per share. It comes as the company reported audited profits of $25.7 million for 2023 in its recent Annual General Meeting at John E. St Luce Finance and Conference Centre. It is also projecting another strong growth year for 2024, with a profit forecast of $25.6 million. The energy company is seen to be a good barometer of economic activity. Garfield Burford reports.
