The Director of the National Office of Disaster Services is pleased with the response of various agencies during the passage of Tropical Storm Ernesto. Sherrod James also disclosed that two people sought refuge in shelters on Tuesday. He was providing a preliminary assessment during an interview with ABS News. Myrtle Bruno Hodge reports.
Key stakeholders have begun to share their views on how Antigua and Barbuda can ensure the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence. Peak winds of 53 miles per hour from Tropical Storm Ernesto toppled some vendors’ tents and dislodge tree branches, but Antigua and Barbuda was largely unscathed from the storm’s passage. Activities to mark National Youth Week began officially with a Church Service at the Precision Centre on Sunday. The service coincided with the annual celebration of International Day of the Youth on August 12. Ercil Charles Jr reports.
The National Office of Disaster Services has announced 17 shelters are to be opened across the twin-island state, as residents brace for the impact of Tropical Storm Ernesto on Tuesday into Wednesday.
