Dr. Rhonda Sealey Thomas, who is now Assistant Director of the Pan American Health Organization, says collaboration and coordination are crucial to finally end this scourge. Washington Bramble, currently facing charges under the law, has launched an application to contest its constitutionality. The crux of the argument is a possible infringement on the fundamental right to freedom of expression. In a court session, Bramble, who self-represented, sought additional time to review the crown's recent response with legal counsel. The controversy centers around amendments made to the Act in 2018, including the removal of the word "persistently" ; changes Bramble argues has rendered the law excessively broad and vague. On May 10, Justice Ann-Marie Smith presides over further arguments in this matter.
