THE JUDICIAL COMMITTEE OF THE PRIVY COUNCIL HAS RULED IN FAVOUR OF BARBUDANS JOHN MUSSINGTON AND JACKLYN FRANK IN A CASE ABOUT THEIR LEGAL STANDING TO CHALLENGE APPROVALS BY THE DEVELOPMENT CONTROL AUTHORITY OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS ON BARBUDA. THE RULING NOW MAKES WAY FOR A LEGAL CHALLENGE TO THE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW AIRPORT ON THE SISTER ISLE INCLUDING ITS TERMINAL BUILDING. THE GOVERNMENT OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA SAYS THE RETAIL PRICES FOR GASOLINE AND DIESEL WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED, DESPITE A 9 PER CENT INCREASE IN THE COST OF DIESEL ANNOUNCED BY WEST INDIES OIL COMPANY. WIOC HAS ALSO ANNOUNCED A 1 PER CENT REDUCTION IN THE PRICE OF GASOLINE. THIS MEANS GASOLINE PRICES WILL REMAIN AT $13.99 PER GALLON, DIESEL AT $14.25 PER GALLON, A 20 POUND LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS OR COOKING GAS CYLINDER FOR $32.00, THE 25 POUND FOR $40.00 AND THE 100 POUND FOR $155.00. THE GOVERNMENT SAYS THESE PRICES ARE WELL BELOW THE REGIONAL AVERAGE.
