Ten Transport Board routes resumed servicing the public but areas in the north and south were still an issue because of debris. Chief Executive Officer Fabian Wharton told CBC News that about 25 per cent of staff had reached and others were on their way at the time of the CBC NewsNight broadcast. CBC News also spoke with Ruth Holder, director of the Transport Authority, who said that there was no physical damage at the River or Cheapside Terminals. However, they will remain closed and reopen in the morning for normal service. The Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) was ready to resume service and some had already returned to plying their routes after the all-clear was given following the passage of Hurricane Beryl. Director of Public Communications and Public Affairs at AOPT, Mark Haynes, expressed concern about the level of debris reported on the streets following the hurricane's passage. He was hopeful it could be removed in time for them to recommence servicing the public.
