Her remarks came during the "Arts For Activism: A Cultural Production on Gender-Based Violence," part of the 116 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence campaign. They are not a political party “at the moment”, and although there are some familiar faces from political circles, the Friends of Democracy charity is a group of like-minded people working in their communities. This is the word from former president of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Dr Ronnie Yearwood after a service at Christ The King Anglican Church in Rock Dundo, St Michael, last Sunday morning. He was joined by ousted DLP general secretary Steve Blackett and his wife Eleanor; former spokesperson on housing, attorney Ricardo Harrison; former public relations officer Stacia Browne; former candidate Undene Whittaker, who announced her resignation in the weeks after the party’s annual conference this year, and others. Speaking on behalf of the group, whose members wore shades of green, Yearwood responded to whether they had formed a political party or planned to do so. (Vieo by Jameel Springer)
