A review of the constituency boundaries is coming. So says Acting Prime Minister Dr Ernest Hilaire. While the exercise is overdue by two years he says a review does not automatically translate into a realignment of constituency boundaries.

USAID Caribbean Business Enabling Environment Reform programme hosted a private sector advocacy training workshop on Tuesday 27th February. The project is a three-year $8.6 million programme designed to create a more enabling environment for businesses, and creating investment opportunities for economic growth.

The winners of the first Be A Buddy anti-bullying programme jingle competition received their prizes on Tuesday. The Odsan Combined, Vide Boutielle Primary & the Richfond Combined Schools won the first second and third place prizes respectively. The competition was sponsored by Domino’s Pizza.

Residents in North/East Tobago can now boast of improved water supply. This, as a result of the operation of two booster stations in the Highland Road, Moriah and Pine Hill, Parlatuvier areas. On Tuesday, the stations were commissioned.

The Ministry of Sport and Community Development and The Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago officially launched "I CHOOSE SPORT" on Monday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain. Barbados appears to be facing a worrying child abuse problem. It is one of the issues raised during the start of today's Estimates, where the focus has been on the Ministry of People Empowerment & Elder Affairs. Minister Kirk Humphrey has provided figures to show the extent of the child abuse problem. He says between 2019 and 2023 Barbados recorded more than two thousand cases. Mr. Humphrey says it is clear a lot more needs to be done to protect the nation's children, and it is for this reason he believes pending Child Protection legislation is critical.
