This artform remains an integral part of Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival and year after year, we see veterans and newcomers delivering their stories with humour, passion, tact, and confidence. In this week's See Yourself feature, Ayanna Carter spoke to two calypsonians who gave insight into the preparation just before hitting the stage, and shared some advice for young calypsonians.

The Past Cricketers Society of Trinidad and Tobago will be hosting its Annual Awards Function on Saturday 4th February 2024 and will be recognising some of this country's past cricketers. Among the awardees are fast bowler Theodore "Theo" Cuffy, former Government Minister Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, Imtiaz Ali, Kenrick Bainey, Randal Lyon, Waaz Hosein, Ganga Bhagwandass ,and Geroge Alec Burns. The Association is also on a continuous drive to recognise this country's past cricketers and also assist with medical bills for its members. Additionally, they have gone beyond the call of duty in donating towards needy households, natural disaster relief, and upcoming youth cricketers.

West Indies wicketkeeper/batsman Joshua Da Silva was full of praise for the resilience showed by the regional team in their drawn Test Series against Australia. Da Silva, who was named captain of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force for the upcoming West Indies Championship, spoke to TTT Sport during a training session. Kent Fuentes has more.

The National Council on Substance Abuse is suggesting the time has come for new cross-sector approaches to address the drug problem in Barbados. This comes as the results of the 2022 BARDIN study released yesterday, show marijuana continues to be the drug of choice for those in treatment. The Council's Research Officer Laura Foster, says officials should consider executing a national household survey to get a full picture of the prevalence of marijuana use. She also wants to see the creation of a national employment assistance to cater to those unemployed individuals who are coming forward for drug treatment. Ms. Foster has also made a renewed call for businesses to implement workplace drug policies.
