A former police detective allegedly strangled a pregnant woman to prevent her from blowing the cover on their alleged relationship. Matthew Farwell is accused of grooming Sandra Birchmore when she was underage while she participated in his department’s Explorers program. Birchmore was found dead in her Canton apartment in February 2021. Her death was originally ruled as self-inflicted until investigators discovered evidence allegedly linking Farwell to the killing. Florida woman Bree Kuhn faces trial for allegedly murdering her husband, Collin Turner, at their family home in September 2021. Kuhn, a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy, is accused of gunning down Turner, a former Marine, in their garage during a heated domestic dispute. Turner was shot while on the phone with police after Kuhn allegedly locked him in their garage and told dispatchers, “She just shot me.” Turner was killed during the incident. Kuhn is charged with first-degree premeditated murder.
