Alex Murdaugh was busted outside of a rehab facility in Florida and arrested for two felony warrants connected to missing life insurance settlement money from his late housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield. The newly released bodycam footage from Orange County deputies shows Murdaugh asking for medication and taking a pill before he was placed into a squad car back in October of 2021. In this week's edition of Facing South Florida: Next week more than 15-hundred of South Florida’s janitorial workforce will be voting on whether to give their union the right to call a strike if a new contract can’t be negotiated. They are asking for things many workers take for granted—a decent hourly wage, sick days, paid time off etc. In the past, we have seen custodial workers here go on hunger strikes to be treated fairly, as well as pickets and protests at downtown office buildings, all in an effort to raise their pay. We have seen some improvement but much more needs to be done. CBS News Miami's Jim DeFede talks to one of the local janitorial workers and the woman who leads their union. Plus, With just three weeks left in the 2024 Florida legislative session DeFede examines where some of the efforts stand in Tallahassee to deal with the mental health crisis in the criminal justice system. Jim talks to State Representative Patt Maney, a former judge and Army General who has been trying to reform the Baker act. That law can be used by police or family members to provide emergency mental health treatment and detention for up to 72 hours for individuals who are at risk of serious bodily injuries to themselves or others.
