Le beau rêve! Une quinzaine de bœufs musqués sont capturés sur l’île d’Ellesmere et amenés au Nunavik dans les années 60. Mais le projet de ferme d’élevage à Kuujjuaq avorte et les animaux sont relâchés sur le territoire. Aujourd’hui, il y aurait plus de 7000 bœufs musqués dans le Nord québécois et cette expansion rapide soulève des inquiétudes chez les Inuit. L’imposant mammifère nuit-il au caribou migrateur, symbole sacré pour les communautés du Nunavik? Le ministère de la Faune du Québec mesure maintenant son impact sur cet écosystème nordique.
