A mysterious and ghostly shipwreck has washed up on the coast of Newfoundland, baffling and exciting residents with its sudden appearance. The hull of the wooden ship appeared along the shoreline near Cape Ray, a tiny community on the southwest coast of Newfoundland, earlier this month — an area known to be the final resting site of at least eight other ships that fell victim to bad weather over the years. Now, the provincial government is sending a team to investigate the wreck and hopefully identify and preserve what remains, but the team is at the mercy of the same weather and tides that might have played a part in the ship’s demise. Visuals of the wreck point to the ship being quite old. Wooden dowels used as nails have led many to believe the boat was constructed in the 1800s. Copper pegs have also been spotted in the photographs of the ship, which were a common construction method from that time. "We have a catastrophe at our southern border. It is because the border has been deliberately opened wide, that we see the terrific horrors that are taking place across our country right now. From Texas to New York, waves of illegal immigrants are now overwhelming our communities. Just since the time I was elected Speaker less than 100 days ago, more than 700,000 illegals have been welcomed into our country illegally by the Biden Administration.," Johnson said. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday, "House Republicans have a choice to make: They can keep playing politics or they can work in a bipartisan way to secure the border. For years they have refused to heed the president's request on action for much-needed funding for border security." "When they said they were gonna cut the wire down there and let them start crossing the border again, nah ... they need to close the border. This is crazy, our country is being overtaken," said Robin, a convoy protester in Denham Springs , La., on Wednesday. You may or may not have noticed some recent wardrobe decisions among some of your favourite anchors at Global BC in Burnaby, B.C. Ahead of Groundhog Day, Sophie Lui, Chris Gailus, Sonia Sunger, Jason Pires, Katelin Owsianski and Kristi Gordon, all decided to wear the same outfit for one week straight. During the week when Gailus and Pires wore the same outfit, there were no messages to the station about their clothing. When Lui, Sunger, Owsianski and Gordon wore the same outfit the following week, many emails and messages came in asking why. Most of the comments expressed curiosity about the change. Here's what the anchors and Kendra Strauss, a geographer and feminist political economist at Simon Fraser University, had to say about the experiment.
