Rebel News personality David Menzies was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting a police officer while trying to ask Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland questions. The video of the encounter appears to show an officer stepping into Menzies' path while the media personality was carrying his microphone in the parking lot of a suburban strip mall. Charges were later dropped after police found 'no credible security threat,' York Regional Police say. Some air travellers may be feeling more nervous following recent incidents involving airlines, including the recent Alaska Airlines mishap when a door blew out while the plane was mid-air — despite it landing safely, without injuries. Fear of flying is not uncommon, with the U.S. National Institute on Mental Health reporting it impacts up to 6.5 per cent of that population though numbers suggest it could be even higher. As Global’s Sean Previl reports, therapists and psychologists say there are many reasons behind it and ways to cope with it so you can still board that plane to your next destination. Before you book a ticket to escape the cold weather, doctors say it's important to research the risks at these tropical destinations. Though Dengue often begins with general fever symptoms, “people who actually get infected have little, or no symptoms,” Michael Libman, a doctor specializing in infectious disease and medical microbiology, says. As Global’s Katherine Ward reports, there are growing concerns about the Aedes mosquito-carried illness as reports of cases are on the rise — as well as the number of impacted regions. Taiwan Foreign Minister Joseph Wu's news conference was interrupted by an island-wide emergency alert on Tuesday, which stated that a Chinese satellite had flown over southern Taiwan's airspace. Wu informed reporters that "a satellite carried by a rocket" had flown over the southern part of Taiwan, but said he had no further information. At a separate news conference, Taiwan's defence ministry said that it will closely monitor Chinese balloons that "threaten" aviation safety, with no plans to shoot them down currently. According to officials, four Chinese balloons were spotted over the Taiwan Strait the prior day, two of which crossed over Taiwan. Taiwan is on high alert for Chinese military and political activity ahead of Saturday's presidential and parliamentary elections. It accuses China of exerting military and economic pressure in an attempt to interfere with the elections. In a post-courtroom appearance where his lawyers argued that the former U.S. president Donald Trump should be immune from charges that he illegally sought to overturn the results of the 2020 election, Trump said he “did nothing wrong.” Inside the courtroom, Trump’s lawyers told a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that his case should be dismissed on grounds of the long-held rule that former presidents cannot be held criminally liable for carrying out official duties. D. John Sauer, Trump’s attorney, told the judges that authorizing the prosecution would “open a Pandora's Box from which that nation may never recover." Sauer further suggested that U.S. presidents must be impeached and removed from office by Congress before being prosecuted. Though Trump has already been impeached twice, he was not convicted by the Senate. “When they talk about threat to democracy, that's your real threat to democracy,” Trump said following the appeal. “And I feel that as a president, you have to have immunity. Very simple.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10213039/donald-trump-court-election-charges/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on Twitter HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #Trump #Crime
