Police in France have arrested a man suspected of murdering his wife and four children in a knife attack early on Christmas Day, a public prosecutor said. Their bodies were found on Monday night in a bloodied apartment in the town of Meaux, northeast of Paris. “The mother and two young daughters had been the victims of a large number of stab wounds,” prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier said. Police detained the children's father at his residence in a nearby town and have opened a murder investigation. Moscow has reported that a Ukrainian attack on the Crimean port of Feodosia resulted in damage to a large Russian landing ship and the death of one person. The airstrike occurred early Tuesday and was conducted by Ukrainian aircraft carrying guided missiles, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence. The Ukrainian Air Force claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that their warplanes had destroyed the ship. “Pilots of tactical air forces delivered a strike. A warship was destroyed, most likely a warship with a set of ammunition, powerful one, ” a spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat said.
