Following footage broadcast by Al Jazeera of two unarmed men being shot and their bodies being bulldozed by Israeli troops in northern Gaza, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is calling on the international community to hold Israel accountable. “These are brutal and terrifying scenes because we are looking at extrajudicial killings,” PRCS spokesperson Nebal Farsakh told Al Jazeera, adding that it was obvious that Israel was making an attempt to hide the evidence. “Israel is getting away with this because of the silence of the international community. Israel’s PM Netanyahu’s office has told the White House that it wants to reschedule a cancelled meeting supposed to take place between officials from both countries. An Israeli delegation was due to visit Washington to discuss the planned ground offensive in Rafah. However, Netanyahu cancelled the trip following the United States’ refusal to veto a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Netanyahu said the US decision was “a very bad move” and that “it encourages Hamas to take a hard line”. “The meetings that were held here, they were constructive discussions with Israel’s defense minister over the last two days,” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said. “Rafah was one of the many topics discussed. The Israeli PM’s office has agreed to reschedule the meeting dedicated to Rafah. So we’re now working with them to set a convenient date that’s obviously going to work for both sides. In the occupied West Bank, a gunman has opened fire on two buses carrying Israeli settlers. Three people were wounded.
