As the world celebrates World Press Freedom today, the Media Institute of Southern Africa's Zimbabwe office says the country's police have drastically reduced crackdowns against journalists. Since last year, Misa has been organising meetings between police and journalists to iron out issues and figure out ways to work in harmony. The Senzo Meyiwa trial adjourned this week and has been postponed to 13 May. The focus this week has been on accused number 1 Muzi Sibiya's banking records, presented in court last Thursday. The state is questioning his alibi that he was in KwaZulu-Natal at the time of Meyiwa's murder in October 2014, as his bank transactions show he was in Gauteng.
