Cabinet has endorsed the recommendations made by a Ministerial Task Team on Voluntary Exit Options and Pathways from the Captive Lion Industry. While repair work to a pipe at the Honeydew reservoir has been completed, residents' water woes are not over just yet. The Competition Commission has approved the Blue Label Telecoms bid to take a controlling stake in Cell C. The commission has recommended that the Competition Tribunal approves the proposed transaction. The sole survivor of the Limpopo bus crash is on her way home. The 8-year-old girl survived when a bus travelling from Botswana plunged off a bridge, killing 45 others. The Western Cape health department started the year with a budget shortfall of about R1.5 billion. This is a result of national government’s budget cuts. The shortfall is impacting service delivery and the ability to fill vacant posts. The department says the National Equitable Share Formula decreased the percentage allocated to the Western Cape. Botswana's health department is meeting with families of the Limpopo bus crash victims to collect samples which will enable identification of the victims 45 Botswana nationals died last week after their bus plunged off a bridge and caught fire. The City of Cape Town is coordinating aid for residents of informal settlements left stranded by fires. Officials say around eight-hundred people have been displaced by fires that ripped through a section of Mfuleni, Du Noon and Langa at the weekend.
