Crime stats reveal that 213 kidnapping cases were reported in the Eastern Cape in the last quarter of 2023 it is a vast improvement of over 8-percent compared to the same period the previous year. But 2024 has already seen a surge in kidnappings, with the most recent one in Kariega in the Eastern Cape. This is the fifth abduction in the province, in the space of three months, and follows the recent kidnapping, of a Gqeberha businessman Neal Al-Tow, who disappeared over a week ago. Self-confessed murderer Sifiso Mkhwanazi was found guilty on Wednesday of raping and killing sex workers in Johannesburg. The City of Ekurhuleni is refusing to accept a recent report from the Auditor General that found irregular and fruitless expenditure on the part of city officials. The Ndimande brothers will be back in a Manzini court on 20 March, for their extradition case. The two are wanted in connection with the murder of Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and Tebello 'Tibz Motsoane. eSwatini prosecutors stated last week that they were still awaiting extradition documents from South Africa.
