Police have arrested four suspects in possession of a chemical with possible links to Gauteng's food poisoning cases. This is according to Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, who says health officials have identified a chemical used in the manufacturing of foods stocked by some spaza shops. Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, Chair of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Health, spoke to eNCA.

Western Cape Community Safety MEC Anroux Marais says there will be an increase in police deployments to Bishop Lavis, Cape Town. This follows a shooting that left sseven people dead and one injured. No bail for the man accused of raping and killing 6-year old Amantle Samane, says Police Minister Senzo Mchunu. The 24 year-old suspect appeared in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Friday and is expected to apply for bail on the 1st of November.
