Calls are mounting for the Gauteng government to intervene in the embattled City of Tshwane Council. Residents from various areas marched to the city offices to hand over a memorandum of demands. The City of Tshwane and eThekwini are set to receive a fleet of electric buses by the end of next year as part of a pilot project to shift the country to electric mobility. The first batch of e-buses, 39 in total are expected to hit the road in the next 18 to 24 months. The South African National Energy Development Institute or SANEDI has been appointed by the Development Bank of Southern Africa to manage the project.
