The Gauteng Emergency Management System’s call centre has responded to over 1,500 calls - most of which were suicide attempts on Monday night. According to a study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, suicide rates tend to increase over the summer holidays. Clinical psychologist Suntosh Pillay, the chief clinical psychologist in eThekwini, and co-founder of the KwaZulu-Natal Mental Health Advocacy Group discussed this with eNCA. The Gauteng province welcomed 112 little bundle of joys on Monday. 59 boys and 53 girls were born between midnight and 09:30 this morning. At the 15th BRICS Summit last year, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that six countries were invited to join the bloc. These countries were Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Only five of these countries accepted this invitation. Argentina President Javier Milei declined the invitation.
