The state says five accused in the so-called construction-mafia case were ring leaders in the disruption of a bridge construction project in KwaXimba, KwaZulu-Natal. The accused are applying for bail in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court. They face extortion charges. The state is opposing bail, saying the accused might interfere with the construction project and witnesses if released. The defence is questioning why only five people were singled out and arrested from the group of more than 30. Community members supporting the accused say their case is political. eNCA’s Siphamandla Goge reports. Courtesy #DStv403
