Two of the 13 VBS corruption accused, Danny Msiza and Kabelo Matsepe will know on Friday, if the high court agrees to temporarily stay their prosecution and grant them a separate trial. The two want their prosecution to be kept on hold, until a verdict of the Supreme Court of Appeals Court is delivered. The City of Joburg and City Power have been granted leave to appeal a court judgment in favour of Eskom. The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse, Outa, has welcomed the resignation of Kabelo Gwamanda as Joburg mayor. CEO, Wayne Duvenage says the move is long overdue. Outa is among the civil society organisations that have been calling for Gwamanda to quit for allegedly deteriorating service delivery in Joburg. The mayor wrote to the speaker to say he will be stepping down. The resignation will be effective on a date set by the speaker of council.
