The City of Cape Town has been hard hit by severe weather conditions in the Western Cape. Twelve pupils and a driver have been killed in a car crash in Johannesburg. Eleven of the pupils are from Rocklands Primary School and one from Laerskool Blyvooruitsig in Carletonville. The scholar transport mini-bus was hit from behind. It then overturned and burst into flames. The vehicles were found to be roadworthy. But according to authorities the mini-bus was overloaded. Judge Mmonoa Teffo has found that the deaths at Life Esidimeni were negligently caused by former Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu and former provincial health head Makgabo Manamela. Back in 2016, over a hundred mental health patients died from neglect and starvation, after being moved from the Life Esidimeni facility to ill-equipped and unlicensed non-governmental organisations. #enca #dstv403
