Taps are expected to temporarily run dry in the City of Tshwane and the Ekurhuleni Metro this week. That's as Bulk Water supplier, Rand Water continues its month-long maintenance programme. Both Metros say plans are in place to distribute water to affected areas, using water tankers. The Zimbabwe government says it's started distributing cash to almost two million hungry city dwellers to buy food. The government revealed last month that a total of 7.7 million people in both urban and rural areas are facing starvation due to the El Nino weather pattern in Southern Africa.
