Two people have been arrested for a bomb scare at Cape Town International Airport. A FlySafair flight crew raised concerns after hearing comments from two passengers. They believed an explosive device was on their Joburg-bound flight. But, a bomb squad sweep found no incendiary devices. Operations have now returned to normal. The Western Cape High Court has heard how alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack, tried to bribe high-ranking police officers Jeremy Vearey and Charl Kinnear. The state argues that Modack used the services of a middleman to develop a corrupt relationship with Vearey, Kinnear and other members of the Anti-Gang Unit. The unit - led by Kinnear - had seized firearms and ammunition from Modack's security guards in April 2017. Kinnnear was shot dead outside his house three years later. eNCA's Ayesha Ismail reports. The chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission handed over the lists of future MPs and members of provincial legislatures to Chief Justice Raymond Zondo on Thursday. All members must take an oath before beginning their duties.
