The trial of alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack, and 14 others continues in Western Cape High Court. A Hawks detective revealed how he was able hack accused number two Zane Kilian’s confiscated phones, and in so doing linked him to Modack. Kilian is accused of pinging the phone of slain anti-gang unit detective Charl Kinnear, up until the day he was shot dead in September 2020. The two brothers, Atul and Rajesh Gupta are wanted by South African authorities on criminal charges for the misappropriation of government funds to the tune of billions of Rand. Their eldest brother Ajay, and brother-in-law Anil, are sitting in an Indian jail after being arrested in May in connection with the suicide of a businessman in that country.
