The trial of alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack, and 14 others continues in Western Cape High Court. A Hawks detective revealed how he was able hack accused number two Zane Kilian’s confiscated phones, and in so doing linked him to Modack. Kilian is accused of pinging the phone of slain anti-gang unit detective Charl Kinnear, up until the day he was shot dead in September 2020. The Gupta family is back in the spotlight. The two brothers, Atul and Rajesh Gupta are wanted by South African authorities on criminal charges for the misappropriation of government funds to the tune of billions of Rand. Their eldest brother Ajay, and brother-in-law Anil, are sitting in an Indian jail after being arrested in May in connection with the suicide of a businessman in that country. Neeshan Bolton, the executive director of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, who has lobbied for the Guptas to be brought to justice, spoke with eNCA. Former uMkhonto weSizwe Council chairman and ANC Veterans League member Siphiwe Nyanda has urged the ANC leadership not to work with former President Jacob Zuma. In a letter addressed to the ANC leadership, Nyanda said Zuma will finish his job of destroying the governing party.
