The Unveiling of the reconstructed girl’s dormitory at UWESO Masulita Children’s Home was today officially opened by Mrs.Natasha M Karugire on behalf of Honourable Janet K. Museveni. More details in this report. The importance for every child to have a safe and conducive environment for learning and growing to attain a brighter future is essential. On Thursday 21st November 2024 at the UWESO Children’s home in Masulita, the unveiling of the reconstructed girl’s dormitory was unveiled and graced by the presence of Natasha M Karugire who officially cut the ribbon on behalf of her mother, Janet Museveni. The first lady’s daughter was grateful to the good lord for the transformative change that has transpired in Masulita, in addition to thanking the fundraising groups in chop gaming limited, betpawa and Tororo cement for ensuring that the initiative was a success, in completion of the girls dormitory The future of children’s growth and development is vital because it helps contribute to human capital investment. The CEO of UWESO stated that the dormitory will be of good cause for the children

Women living with HIV/AIDS across the country are set to benefit from the proceeds of the inaugural Aviation Run, which will take place in Kampala on 8th December. Organizers of the run believe that many HIV/AIDS-positive women lack access to essential health services, including safe delivery options in maternity wards. Uganda has flagged off its first container of Hass avocados for export to Spain by sea, marking a significant milestone in the country’s agricultural export sector. This follows a contract signed between Uganda and Love Fruits, a Spanish company, to export fresh Hass avocado containers to Europe. Officiating at the flag-off ceremony, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Linda Auma, who represented the Minister of Agriculture, Frank Tumwebaze, noted that the committee is in the final stages of tabling a bill to facilitate agricultural investors by availing sufficient land for agricultural investment.

The latest statistics reveal a decrease in new HIV/AIDS infections, dropping from 60,000 to 38,000, with 40% of these cases occurring among young people aged 14-28, primarily caused by older men aged 30 and above. The Uganda AIDS Commission also reported a decline in death rates, with only 20,000 deaths registered. This information was shared during a media briefing at the Uganda Media Center ahead of World AIDS Day commemorations.

Medical Doctors at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital have formed a task force that is aimed at ending maternal and child deaths by 2030 in the Bunyoro Region.
