Over 100 youth at Grace Technical Institute in Kibaale Under Directorate of industrial training, in partnership with Juna-Magara Ministries Uganda have been trained and graduated with certificates in various technical and vocational training courses amidst challenges of chimpanzee threats. Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Rev. Dr. Ben Tumuhirwe, the founder and Chief Executive Director, Grace Technical & Vocational Institute, said after realizing challenges of female & male youth in Job Market, he decided to establish a vocational training to help the youth to create Jobs, rather than searching for them.

The government has extended condolences and financial support to 25 families who lost loved ones in the Kigoogwa fire incident. Minister of State for National Guidance, Godfrey Kabbyanga, delivered 5 million shillings to the family of the late Edward Mwebaza in Kayunga District. Mwebaza, who died from severe burns, was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kayunga.

Candidates vying for the position of Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament are intensifying their campaigns to secure the seat in Parliament.  However, the campaigns have been dominated by issues of religious and ethnic division, with tensions notably arising between Protestants and Catholics.

Residents of Kigungu landing site, especially the Catholic community, were left in shock and disbelief after unknown people set fire to Kigungu Mapeera Catholic sub-Parish. The motive of the arson is not yet known. They now want police to install security cameras around church premises to identify the culprits and their motive towards destruction of God’s house.

With days to go, the people of Kisoro are eagerly awaiting the election of a new Woman MP to replace the late Sarah Mateke. Six candidates are in the race, including NRM’s Rose Kabagyenyi, FDC’s Juliet Musanase, PPP’s Aisha Chimpeye, UPC’s Mable Hingabire, NUP’s Zubedi Sultan Salim, and an independent candidate, Akifeza Ngabirano, a former NRM member who lost in the party primaries.
