Uganda Manufacturers Association has launched a mini-marathon aimed at re-equipping Mbale regional referral hospital in eastern Uganda. Experts are advising builders not to construct or erect structures under power lines to avoid being electrocuted. Various stakeholders in environmental protection have emphasized the urgent need to expedite the Building Substances Bill to regulate violations of human and environmental rights. They argue that the enacted Mining and Mineral Act of 2022 lacks the necessary regulatory frameworks, leading to increased violations of environmental and human rights, particularly in wetlands through activities such as sand mining, clay extraction, and gravel mining.

Dozens of tenants in Apac Municipality are stranded after their business premises and rented rooms were closed due to poor sanitary conditions. The 6-day operation, conducted by the Apac Municipality Department of Environmental Health, began yesterday and targets rental properties lacking latrines, drainage, and proper garbage disposal pits. There was joy and jubilation at the Uganda-DR Congo border in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council after Fisheries Protection Unit Commander Lt. Col. Mercy Tukahirwa reopened Mpondwe Lhubiriha Fish Market after five years. Police in Kole have released preliminary investigations into allegations of mismanagement of funds allocated to the district for road infrastructure redevelopment. The investigations followed complaints that about 200 million shillings had been lost.
