Police Taekwondo Club has emerged as champions of the Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Cup which has ended today at the MTN Arena in Lugogo. The two-day tournament has been graced by 300 participants from different clubs including fighters from Kenya. On October 18, 1964, the Uganda Martyrs were proclaimed Saints by Pope Paul VI at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Italy. This was after a long process that began in 1906 with the recovery of the relics of Charles Lwanga and Matia Mulumba at Nalukolongo. However, the Martyrs needed to perform at least two miracles before they could be declared saints. The Minister of State for Microfinance, Haruna Kasolo, has announced that all Emyooga Savings and Credit Cooperatives will receive additional funding from the government. Each Emyooga SACCO is set to receive an extra twenty million shillings, aimed at empowering communities and fostering economic growth and development. During a monitoring visit organized by the Microfinance Support Centre to evaluate the progress of Emyooga SACCOs in the Sebei, Bugisu, and Bukedi sub-regions, it was plain that the program is making significant strides among the communities.

Vice President Jessica Alupo is in Seoul, South Korea to represent Uganda at the Korea Africa Summit that opens on Tuesday.
