The Ministry of Education and Sports has commended the Government of the Republic of South Korea through the Korea International Agency (KOICA) for it's support towards vocational training in Uganda. The Director Higher Technical Vocational Education and Training Dr Safina Kisu Musene said this while officiating at the technical fair held at Ntinda vocational training institute in Kampala.

President Yoweri Museveni has described the late president of Tanzania Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere as the greatest African leader Africa has had ever. In a speech read for him the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Museveni said Nyerere was a fearless defender of the oppressed and he was a blessing to the continent of Africa. Nabbanja delivered Museveni’s remarks at the Uganda Martyrs Shrine Namugongo this morning during the annual holy mass to pray for the beatification of Nyerere as a saint in the Catholic Church.

It is 15 years since the Catholic Church in Uganda gazetted 1st of June as a memorial day of Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. The memorial service is commemorated every year in remembrance of his prayerful public having lived an exemplary life even as a politician.

In the last financial year 2022/23, the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) generated Shs151 billion in taxes. With the launch of the national lottery in partnership with Ithuba Uganda announced, the national lottery is expected to generate annual revenue to the government of Shs 147bn. The National Unity Platform party says it will resume its nationwide consultation meetings next week with a tour in Mityana on Tuesday despite police order halting their activities. Police spokesperson Fred Enanga told NTV that NUP disregarded the guidelines agreed between the party and police following their Masaka tour on Friday. As such, the Police had decided to suspend NUP activities. Roofings Rolling Mills Limited has officially launched its tree planting campaign initiative, demonstrating its commitment to supporting government reforestation initiatives. The Executive Director of the Uganda Heart Institute Dr. John Omagino, is urging the government to implement a policy recommending the presence of nurses in all primary schools to detect rheumatic heart diseases in their early stages, where they can be diagnosed and treated effectively. Dr. Omagino made this call during the dissemination of research on advancing cardiovascular healthcare and innovation in Kampala.
