Caritas Uganda has launched a Month of Environment Action aimed at protecting and conserving the environment. Speaking at a press conference, Rev. Fr. Hillary Muhengango, the National Director of Caritas Uganda, called upon the government to enact a law on wetlands and consolidate various provisions to protect wetlands in the country. Uganda is currently preparing to mark World Environment Day on 5th June 2024 in Sironko District.
Limited access to information about sexual and reproductive health among adolescents has been blamed for fueling poor uptake of health products vital for shielding them against contracting chronic diseases especially sexually transmitted infections. A case in point is the low uptake of dose-2 of the Human Papilloma Virus – Vaccine among teenage girls, due hesitations from both adolescents and their parents or caregivers.

Police have confirmed the arrest of two suspected criminals who attacked a 40-year-old along Ben Kiwanuka Street in Kampala. Using a side kick to disable their targets, the suspects robbed the victim of 450,000/= before leaving him unconscious. Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson, stated that the two suspects will assist the police in ongoing investigations to crackdown on such criminals.
Ministry of Works And Transport has constructed a regional materials testing laboratory in Nadunget sub- county Moroto District which is aimed at providing material testing and quality control services to the construction industry in Karamoja Sub region. The laboratory commissioning was officiated by the state minister for works Musa Echeru and witnessed by the minister for Karamoja Affairs Peter Lokeris, state minister for Karamoja affairs Florence Namboozo and other dignitaries.

Police in Masindi District are hunting for their colleague accused of shooting a suspect dead.
