Over 300 inspectors of schools drawn from Lango, Acholi, Bunyoro, Tooro, Ankole, West Nile and Kigezi regions, are being trained on digital performance assessment at Dr. Obote College in Lira city. Entebbe Municipality is seeking more money to equip level health centres in the sub-district to decongest Entebbe Referral Hospital. According to Entebbe leaders, the main hospital in the area serves people from five districts of Gomba, Butambala, Kalangala, Wakiso, and Kampala among others; which overwhelms the medical facility. They say the referral hospital handles major cases while lower facilities manage other minor sicknesses. In a bid to foster education standards the vice chancellor Uganda Christian University Prof.Mushengyezi Aaron has officially received a shs.4.2bn state of the art school of law building at the Kampala campus to specifically cater for law students. Prof.Mushengyezi says the building will uplift academic grades for law students and others.
The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has announced the waiving of Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution penalties that were levied on traders for errors made. Deputy Spokesperson URA, Robert Kalumba, stated that they are implementing a directive from President Museveni following his meeting with traders in Kampala who had protested the unfair penalties related to EFRIS.
National Water and Sewerage Corporation has announced that there will be interruptions in water supply to most parts of Kampala. This is to allow a team of specialist engineers undertake emergency works at the Gbaga Water Treatment Plant.

Uganda Broadcasting Corporation is considering a possibility of partnering with willing investors to develop its assets into productive possessions. The Corporation’s Chairperson for Technical, Assets and Legal Affairs Ibrahim Makoma says investment in real estate will go a long way in promoting UBC’s self-reliance abilities. This he said during a familiarization tour of recently appointed Corporation Board Members at the UBC Mast in Kololo.
Statistics from the Ministry of Health show that Uganda has 200,000 women suffering from the condition. Every year, 1,900 women develop the condition, but only 1,500 surgeries are performed. Uganda currently has only 25 fistula surgeons, which is insufficient. However, with assistance from partners, efforts are underway to clear the backlog of patients. Today, the UN's focus is on prevention to end fistula by 2030. Prevention entails encouraging women to deliver in hospitals and ensuring that health workers adequately attend to women in labor, promptly recommending cesarean section deliveries if necessary. The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has said the government and the development partners need to identify better alternatives of livelihoods to the people of Karamoja than ditching out iron sheets to Karamoja. Nabbanja says its unfortunate that the programme of providing iron sheets has been mishandled by the beneficiaries themselves because ever since government started giving out iron sheets in 2007, a few houses have been roofed. Nabbanja was speaking the UNDP head offices in Kampala.
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has issued a travel advisory, diverting traffic from Masindi Para Road following the closure of Karuma Bridge. On 6th May 2024 UNRA had announced changes in traffic flow at the Bridge crossing after defects were discovered which needed urgent attention.

The Permanent Secretary to the Treasury, Geraldine Bbusurwa Saali, has urged the Guano Cooperative Alliance to rally its members to find financing for the revival of the cooperative bank that was closed down in the '90s by the central bank, over alleged insolvency. According to information on its website, the Uganda Cooperative Alliance indicates its target is to raise $1.5 million from partnerships. The Coffee Roasters Association has applauded government efforts to promote local consumption of Uganda’s coffee products. Abbas Kazibwe Musisi, the proprietor of the Nguvu brand and the chairperson of the Uganda Coffee Roasters Association, also says these interventions, if handled with discipline, will help the country meet its target of 20 million 60kg bags of coffee by 2025. Today, Uganda’s coffee sub-sector contributes 15% to the country's total export earnings and 55% of the total agricultural exports.
