A storm has destroyed the infrastructure of four schools in Mbale City. The affected schools are Nkoma S.S., Mbale High School, Mbale S.S., and Mbale School of Nursing. The UGA night worriers female rugby team is eying the Middle East African Cup and the World Cup qualifiers for rugby U13 in their current continental engagement currently being played at Elite High School in Entebbe. The two-year-old team which now seats fourth on the log for continental positioning says Rugby League Uganda is doing whatever it takes to seek a place at the World Cup and Middle East Cup. National Population and Housing Census exercise in most parts of Moroto district started after midday while some sub-counties the exercise has been stayed to tomorrow. This followed enumerators' failure to operate the tablets due to system breakdown; enumarators and supervisors were called back after they failed to log in the system. Enumarators are however not happy with UBOS for not giving them Umbrellas gumboots and rain jackets.

IMF Country economist for Uganda, Andrew Womer, has told the press today in Kampala that, growth in forecast for sub saharan Africa is set to edge up 3.8 % in the year 2024 from 3.4 % last year, on account of a drop in inflation across the region and significant fiscal adjustments in the previous year. They report, inflation dropped around 6% in early in the year from highs’s of 10% a year earlier, supported by lower food prices. Officials say debt has averaged 60% of GDP.
