Anti-corruption magistrates Court has charged two Obongi local government officials with two counts of abuse of office and embezzlement. The two are accused of abuse of office hving failed to follow the right procedures in processing payment of 57 million to a one Philli Verson Paskas as gratuity. Meanwhile, the same court has released two former NFA employees on a cash bail of 2 million each.
The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Jacob Oboth-Oboth, has advised the ex-combatants of the defunct West Nile Bank Front to invest the money government has given to them as their resettlement package. Hon. Oboth made these remarks during the launch of the commencement of payment of 5.1 billion shillings to ex-combatants of the defunct West Nile Bank Front at Koboko district headquarters in West Nile sub region.

Public accounts committee at Mulago Specialized hospital - Officials fail to account for 1.6 billion
The management of Mulago specialized women and neonatal hospital has failed to give accountability for 1.6 billion shillings spent on an activity that was implemented in financial year 2022/23 according to the auditor general’s report. Members of the public accounts committee of parliament had held a meeting with the officials at the hospital premises to answer queries in the auditor general’s report were they also revealed that a dialysis machine procured at 640 million shillings that financial year has not been installed coupled with failure to repair the ICU machine.
