Director, NRM Mobilization, Rosemary Sseninde, has highlighted the top 10 achievements of President Museveni, focusing on advancements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. During a meeting with leaders of the NRM Nakawa Brigade and TONTA Pressure groups in Nakawa, Sseninde criticized politicians who compare themselves to President Museveni in terms of developmental achievements.
The National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kingdom of Rwenzururu to promote transformational agriculture. Hoima City Authorities have tipped local some people against providing misleading information to enumerators during the forthcoming National Population Census. The area leaders are also concerned that some unscrupulous locals have been telling lies about how the information sourced out of the census will be used. Some are reportedly claiming the data is intended to inform a future decision by the government to increase taxes. The South Sudan government has embarked on a campaign to empower refugees academically with the aim of attracting them back to develop their country, at the end of their studies. According to the South Sudan education attaché Lual Akol Nhial, the development has seen partners secure bursaries that will help realize. The joint staff political commissariat, Major General Henry Masiko, has underscored the importance of ideological consciousness in the Uganda People`s Defence Forces, stating that the latter is a military of ideology. Gen. Masiko made these remarks while presiding over the pass out of 195 noncommissioned officers who completed a three-month basic cadre development course at the Oliver Reginald Tambo Leadership training school, Kaweweta in Nakaseke district.
At least three people have been killed by landslides in Bugoye sub-county, Busongora North constituency, Kasese district. The landslides that left many displaced and property destroyed followed a heavy downpour that accelerated the landslide from the hills. The deceased were buried in debris after their house was swept away by the landslides. The Lc3 chairperson, Bugoye sub-county, James Katalikagha, and the area member of Parliament, regretted the incident and condoled with the bereaved.

Uganda’s I&M bank’s net profit for the twelve months to December 2023 grew by 105% to Shs 11.5 billion, an increase of 5.9 billion shillings. The Speaker of Parliament has adjourned today's sitting without concluding the enacting of the tax Bills. This comes as MPs accused the Ministry of Finance of bringing all five tax bills for the next financial year, along with certificates of financial implication, which had defects. They argue that this violates the Public Finance Management Act, which requires that every bill tabled before parliament must show how it will affect the economy. The MPs concluded that proceeding with processing the Bills and passing them would lead to attracting legal challenges.
