The 3rd deputy Prime Minister RuKia Nakaddama has urged technological firms to invest more time and resources in sensitizing the Public on the relevance of the new technologies and how it works. Nakaddama made the appeal at the Huawei cloud enterprise innovation and SME Summit in Kampala where she also launched a 5 year Huawei cloud startup program.

After years of environmental degradation in areas bordering Queen Elizabeth Conservation Area, communities are now targeting trees and other shrubs in the national park. To combat this issue, Uganda Wildlife Authority, together with World Wildlife, has launched a three-year Green School project in Bunyangabu district. A total of 117 former fighters have been integrated into the community by the UPDF after engaging in armed rebellion against the government of Uganda. The rebels were part of the Forces for Equality Change, an opposition military organization operating in South Sudan and DR Congo. Speaker Anita Among has remained defiant in the face of sanctions imposed by the United Kingdom government over corruption allegations. On Tuesday, the UK government imposed sanctions on Speaker Anita Among, as well as former Karamoja Ministers Agnes Nandutu and Mary Goretti Kitutu, over their involvement in the Karamoja iron sheets scandal. While addressing a parliamentary session today, Among said the sanctions have nothing to do with the scandal but rather her decision to lead Parliament in passing the Anti-Homosexuality Act. Some Members of Parliament are in support of President Yoweri Museveni’s statement on youth travelling to other countries for jobs. A workers representative in parliament Charles Bakabulindi says this can be achieved through identifying talent exhibited by the youth. The woman Member of Parliament Ssembabule Mary Begumisa says young people can at least looks for jobs in US and Canada but not those of UAE where they are being oppressed.
