Somali Citizens living in Lower Shabelle of Ceelajale have appealed to president Museveni to let UPDF soldiers under the African Transition Mission in Somalia to stay and stabilize the fragile security in the country. This follows plans for ATMIS to leave Somalia by December 15, 2024. The Somali national in Ceelajale speaking in an interview revealed an eminent threat of the Al-Shabaab reclaiming the already liberated areas.

A grant funding of up to $5,000 has been released for women-led small and medium enterprises interested in sustainable agriculture, processing, and aquaculture. A local investor known as Wazuri Group will now start producing a water treatment or purification chemical known as Chlorine, according to Investment Minister Evelyn Anite. She was on a tour of the country’s first privately owned manufacturer located in the Kampala suburb of Bweyogelele. The speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among has expressed the need for the minister for presidency Milly Babalanda to appear before parliament and explain the criteria that was used to recruit the just appointed assistant resident district and city commissioners. This follows the leader of opposition Joel Ssenyonyi seeking clarification on floor of parliament how this came about and the roles these people are going play. The minister for presidency Milly Babalanda through the government chief week Hamson Obua promised to appear before parliament on Wednesday.The office of the presidency headed by minister Milly Babalanda over the weekend confirmed that president museveni appointed 357 people in the new staff positions of assistant RDC and RCC in addition to the RDC, deputy RDCs, RCCs and deputy RCCs. During the seating of parliament on Tuesday, the leader of opposition Joel Ssenyonyi brought up this issue questioning the relevancy of these new members and the criteria used to recruit them into public service. Ssenyonyi says these have been under the NRM structure.
