Officials in Napak district are struggling to retain recently repatriated street children in school following the absence of food to feed them. According to the officials, while a number of schools in the district accepted the learners, it has now emerged that the institutions are struggling to adequately feed them, which has seen some of them attempt to escape from the schools. Early this week, the Tax Justice Alliance Uganda (TJAU) submitted a Position Paper on the Tax Amendment Bills for the Financial Year (FY) 2024/25 to the Parliamentary Committee on Finance for consideration. State minister for Luwero-Rwenzori Alice Kaboyo has assured all veterans that government is concerned about their living status. She was commissioning the house for the sister to the Late James Karuhanga who was executed in broad day light in 1973 in Mbarara. The family of Late Karuhanga described the late as person who was patriotic and appreciated president Museveni for remembering him.

Skills training and financial support to local farmers and refugees in Moyo and Obongi districts is changing commercial agriculture and management of families. This is through Security, Protection and Economic Empowerment (SUPREME) project, funded by European Union to refugees and host communities.

Kyambogo University wants government to establish the National Research and Innovation Fund to commercialize the already developed feasible prototypes by university researchers and experts. Health officials in Kagadi district have been placed on high alert following an outbreak of red eye disease in the district.
