The International war crimes division court has confirmed charges and committed Eight suspects in the murder case of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi to the high court for trial. The ruling by Lady Justice Alice Komuhangi Khaukha, prosecution has proven to court with the required evidence to have the accused ready for full trial.
Prosecution has disclosed to defend seven files containing evidence it will rely on during the trial, where nine people are accused of attempted murder of Principle Judge Dr. Flavian Nzeija, and belonging to ADF. Prosecution disclosed this during the pre-trial hearing of the case the case before Judge Alice Komuhangi Khaukha.

The Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives has engaged the traders on the on-going controversial implementation of the new taxation system dubbed EFRIS. The Minister of state for Trade – Industry David Bahati reveals that the engagement has advanced solutions and the update will be presented to Parliament. The Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among asked Minister Bahati to present the progress report on Wednesday. EFRIS is a new taxation model which the Uganda Revenue Collection introduced to manage the revenue collection through embracing digital technology.
The Vice President, Jessica Alupo, has lauded President Museveni for spearheading the industrial hub initiative that has enabled the skilling of the youth to combat unemployment. Alupo was officiating at a graduation ceremony of the Teso subregion Industrial Zonal Hub in Soroti City. The Small and Medium Enterprises Federation has added its voice to civil society and cautioned the government on the use of harsh methods by the URA to enforce tax measures. Despite the urgent need for the government to mobilize taxes for development, the use of security forces and police is not a civil method for ensuring traders pay tax, especially considering the lack of tax education on the controversial system called EFRIS (Electronic Receipting and Invoicing System). John Walugembe, the CEO of SME Fed, also urged that businesses are still recovering from the pandemic, where recovery funds did not fully reach beneficiaries, in addition to multiple taxes imposed on businesses. The owners of Pioneer Easy Bus company have asked the government for 25 billion shillings as compensation to abandon their parking lot at Namboole Stadium. The company says they allegedly got a 49-year lease for the use of the land from the Uganda Land Commission. The move follows an order from the Speaker of Parliament to have the broken-down buses moved away from the lot, ahead of the commissioning of the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole. However, the State Minister of Sports, Peter Ogwang, says the Pioneer Easy Bus owners owe Namboole Stadium management 157 million shillings for the use of the parking lot.
