The government is planning to use case studies of modest road infrastructure projects in new regional cities and municipalities to improve project procurement at the local government level. Dr. Isaac Mutenyo, USMID's Programme Coordinator, was speaking in Jinja City at a lessons-learned conference with mayors, engineers, and planners from local governments that are implementing the $360 million World Bank-funded project. The Inspector General of Government, Betti Kamya, insists that the only way to stamp out corruption is through a lifestyle audit. She further explained that the president need not worry about corrupt individuals investing their loot abroad because there are protocols and laws that the government can use to repatriate the stolen resources. Ugandans have been urged to remain vigilant about the danger of contracting red eye disease amid the ongoing Easter celebrations. According to health officials in KCCA, while the number of new Red-eye cases registered is slowly decreasing, it’s important to ensure that these cases do not rise again. Murders in Kyakaliba over land - Minister Mayanja orders arrest of Mugenyi Yeselo over land grabbing
State Minister for Lands, Dr. Sam Mayanja, has ordered police and Hoima RDC to arrest and charge a one, Mugenyi Yeselo, for alleged land grabbing and murder in villages of Kyakaliba A and B in Hoima town.
Lands minister, Judith Nabakooba, has witnessed handover of 400 land titles in Kiruhura district, with a call to the beneficiaries and local authorities to consider titling government land as a move to guard it against encroachers.
Christians in Masindi district converged to Kamunyonga Catholic Church in Masindi municipality at 8:00am for procession commemorating Jesus’ last moments before he was crucified. They walked over five kilometers to St. Jude catholic parish. The procession was led by Rev. FR. Byaruhanga Aloysius with a visiting Rev. Fr. Hendricks Mambwe from Tanzania.

The administration of Mapeera-Bakateyamba home in Nalukolongo has expressed concern at the neglect of the elderly people under their care by their relatives. Sister Lawrence Nakiwu, the home Administrator says the facility currently cares for over 70 elderly and vulnerable persons, and is often challenged because of their different needs and is surviving on donations.
