The ministry of public service has convened a meeting of the public sector transformation programme leadership committee under the National development plan 111. The meeting aims to appreciate the performance of the programme, consider policy issues affecting performance, and propose recommendations for improvement of the programme. Minister for Public service, Muruli Mukasa, highlights that public sector transformation programme strengthens human resource management function of government for improved service delivery and deepening decentralization.
In the recent reshuffle by President Museveni, the Ministry of ICT maintained its ministerial leadership, with Dr. Chris Baryomunsi as Cabinet Minister, and Joyce Sebugwawo and Godfrey Kabbyanga as State Ministers. Kabbyanga has committed to steering the mandate of digital transformation and development, as stated during his meeting with Urban Council Speakers of the Western Region at an annual general meeting held in Kasese. In the efforts to overcome the challenges of climate change, District Agricultural extension workers have been encouraged to train farmers engage in irrigation especially micro scale irrigation by government and advising them plant profitable crops to increase on their income. The undersecretary ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Ronald Gyagenda Ssegawa, was closing the 7days training for district Agricultural extension workers from 50 districts held at NFLC Kampiringisa in Mpigi.
Farmers from the Districts of Teso have been oriented in citrus fruit farming at Awoja Riverside Farm in Soroti District. The move, spearheaded by National Agriculture Research Laboratories, is aimed at keeping the quality of citrus plants for both consumption and market. Emily Arayo, the Development Communication Officer at NARO- Kawanda, says this will help in rehabilitating a neglected five-year old orchard at this farm.

British Secondary Kampala emerged winners of this year’s Uganda Swimming Federation inter-school gala after garnering 1,338 points. Aghakan High School came second with 1,194 points ahead of Seroma Christian High School and defending champions Green Hill High School who finished third and fourth repressively. Health workers at Atiak Health Centre IV and residents of Amuru district are appealing to government to help them establish a mortuary in the district. Health workers there say it has become difficult to operate the health facility, without a proper mortuary in place. Atiak Health Centre IV is located in Atiak Town Council, Amuru district along the Gulu-Nimule highway. Days after she was dropped from cabinet, Manafwa residents still turned up in droves to meet outgoing Minister for Karamoja Affairs Dr. Mary Gorreti Kituttu as the area marked Women's Day. The National Resistance Army took over power in 1986, the Commander in-Chief of UPDF Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni initiated army schools to provide affordable and equitable education for the children of soldiers from primary and secondary school level. The schools were meant to provide affordable and equitable education to children of soldiers for holistic development.
Youth in various universities have been urged to internalize and learn from contributions of eminent achievers who endeavor to share their knowledge through authentic pieces like books. While launching a book titled “survival of the fittest; a tale of resilience” at statistics house in Kampala, former prime minister, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, said this is a book written by a pan-Africanist who captures the realities of African environments.
Leaders at different levels of the NRM party in Kampala led by Nakawa RCC, Sheikh Kasim Kamugisha, have highlighted the progress of the recently concluded registration and updating of Voter registers exercise for party members. They say the process was a success, although some members were unable to be registered in the Party yellow book as they had entrusted their National identity cards with money lenders.
The commander, Land forces, Lt. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga, is in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to rally support for UPDF troop operation against the Allied Democratic Forces- ADF. Gen. Kayanja in company of Maj. Gen, Dick Olum, operation Shujaa commander, have met with operation officers on the way forward offensive for the remaining ADF remnants.
