In their campaign to realize a successful implementation of delivering justice to Ugandans, newly appointed judicial staff have been cautioned against working in isolation, as this will hinder their efficiency. The Deputy Chief Justice, Richard Buteera, who was speaking to the officers in Mukono, advised them to work as a team with their subordinates and to always tap from their seniors, as this will improve the image of the judiciary in the country. The rehabilitation of the dilapidated Masaka-Mutukula Road is set to be launched later today. The critical trade route between Uganda and Tanzania has been in a sorry state for a long time. Uganda, being a landlocked country, traders prefer to transport goods from the Dar-es-Salaam port on the Indian Ocean through the Tanzanian hinterland to Uganda via the Mutukula border. The National Community Service Committee monitoring team has tasked stakeholders in Moyo and Obongi districts, under Moyo magistrate area, to take the lead in promoting community service programs for petty offenders as an alternative punishment. Members of the Local Government Finance Commission, under the Ministry of Local Government, are concerned about the poor management of revenue in Kikuube District. James Ogwang, a Financial Analyst attached to the Commission and part of a team visiting several districts in the Bunyoro region, says the district is still using manual revenue collection systems that are prone to abuse. The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Treasury, Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi has failed to account for the 1.4 trillion supplementary budget that exited the treasury as supplementary expenditure in the financial year 2022/2023. Dr. Ggoobi and his technical staff had appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament to substantiate on the Auditor General’s audit queries on the consolidated financial statement of the financial year ended June 2023.

Legislators on parliament's public accounts committee have been questioning finance ministry officials why 14 trillion shillings in loans is stuck on their accounts, yet the funds were supposed to finance roads.
