The State House Land Office has ordered the arrest of Lawrence Kiggundu for attempting to grab a 100-acre tract of land in Nabbingo - Bataka Village, Wakiso district. The land, once owned by the late Andrew Mugerwa, has been the subject of a land wrangle that recently drew the attention of Lands State Minister Sam Mayanja, who ordered the police to stop Kiggundu from taking ownership. However, the army also took an interest in the matter. The children of the late Juma Hussein want Fort Portal High Court to cancel a 73 acre land title being claimed by Beatrice Nyindombi Karanja the widow to former Kenyan Vice President Dr Joseph Njuguna Karanja. The children allege that Nyindombi Karanja fraudulently acquired their fathers land to whom she claimed to have borrowed over 12,000 Kenyan shillings for treatment way back in 1987.
The Nile Equatorial Subsidiary Action programme, the investment arm of the Nile basin Initiative, has made tremendous strides in facilitating resource sharing among the Nile basin countries. The Headteacher of Kazo Model Primary School Mr Sam Muraarira Kandiho is calling for more support from the government to support their increasing enrollment in the country.
