The Kenyan government has withdrawn the Secretary General of the East African Community, Dr. Peter Mathuki, from his role within the Community. Health specialists are calling on the government to invest more in the provision of hearing aids for people with hearing disabilities in the country. According to the Managing Director of Kampala Audiology and Speech Centre, Fiona Kamya, the number of Ugandans diagnosed with hearing impairment is slowly rising in the country. However, the cost of access to services like cochlear implants remains high. She made these remarks during a landmark 34th cochlear surgery by C-Care Hospital, where two children were implanted with hearing devices in a free surgery. The deputy RDC Lwengo district Charles Lwanga has asked Ugandans especially duty bearers as far as environmental conservation is concerned to implement the presidential directive on environmental protection without fear or favor. President Museveni in the recent past issued a set of directives with the aim of persuading Ugandans to protect the environment through tree planting, controlled charcoal burning and staying away from wetlands. According to Charles Lwanga in light of the saphocating climatic conditions, it is important for duty bearers to implement these directives.

Certified accountants have been warned against involvement in corrupt tendencies but instead fight it among the public. The president of the certified public accountants, CPA Josephine Okui, noted that the institution is meant to train professionals for better management of public funds, but instead, some get trapped into corruption. She made the remarks during a graduation ceremony of over 250 certified public accountants in Kampala.
